The Salvation Army’s Luxury Retreat in Lunteren
The Salvation Army offers a well-deserved escape to those who need it most: a week-long holiday in the picturesque hotel in Lunteren. But this is no ordinary vacation – it’s a top-notch pampering experience, made possible by the generous efforts of a dedicated team of volunteers, including a group of staff members from The Bulldog.
PART OF OUR YEARLY CALENDAR
On the final evening of their stay, guests are treated to a variety show, where they can showcase their hidden talents. But the party starts earlier, when The Bulldog’s team of 5 to 6 volunteers pampers guests with a range of beauty-indulgences. From soothing massages to beautifying manicures and pedicures, and even professional makeup and hairstyling – every detail is carefully tended to bring a smile to their faces. These pampering days are not just a one-time gesture of kindness; they have become a part of our yearly calendar with approximately two days dedicated to women and one day open to both men and women. With between 50 and 75 attendees at each occasion, no one is overlooked.
ENSURING A COMPLETE PAMPERING EXPERIENCE
The dedication of The Bulldog goes beyond their presence on the day itself. They ensure annually that all supplies for the pampering days are procured, so that every guest can enjoy the full experience without worrying about anything. And as if that weren’t enough, guests are also treated to care packages during lunch, filled with everyday essentials like toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, shower gel, face creams, and deodorants. These small gestures make a big difference in the lives of those who receive them.
FOSTERING CONNECTION AND PRICELESS MOMENTS
The pampering days are not just a moment of relaxation, but also of connection and compassion. They are a demonstration of solidarity and care for the most vulnerable in our society, and a reminder of the power of generosity and empathy. These pampering days become much more than a temporary escape; they are a source of hope, comfort, and renewed energy for those who need them most.
And that is a gift that truly is priceless.
