Serving Kindness: The Bulldog’s Monthly Cooking Night with the Salvation Army

At The Bulldog, community care is at the heart of what we do — and one of our favorite ways to give back is through our monthly cooking night for the incredible women of the Salvation Army. Every month, a different team from The Bulldog heads over to the location, armed with groceries, good vibes, and a heart full of purpose, ready to cook up a delicious, home-cooked three-course meal.

A Special Evening, Led by Family

This month, we had the pleasure of cooking for 35 wonderful ladies, surprising them with a warm, comforting dinner made with love. Leading the evening was our Marketing Manager, Chantal, who brought along a very special sous-chef — her daughter Jade.

As proud family members of Henk de Vries, founder of The Bulldog, Chantal and Jade embody the spirit of giving back. Henk believes in teaching the next generation the value of compassion, community, and showing up for those who need it most — and this evening was a beautiful reflection of that belief.

The Menu That Won Everyone’s Heart

The night began with a tasty appetizer of olives and focaccia served with creamy tzatziki, setting the tone for what was to come.
The main course? A true crowd-pleaser: creamy fusilli pesto pasta, topped with grilled chicken breast and sweet cherry tomatoes. Comfort food at its best!
And of course, the evening ended on a sweet note — because no good meal is complete without dessert.

Moments That Matter

The room was filled with laughter, conversation, and appreciation — proof that a good meal can do more than just fill the belly. It can warm the heart, create connection, and offer a much-needed moment of joy.

We’re so proud to keep this monthly tradition going and grateful for everyone who joins in to make it special. A big thank you to Chantal and Jade for this month’s love-filled dinner.
