A MONTHLY INIATIVE

This month, we had the privilege of preparing another three-course meal for 40 women of the Salvation Army. This monthly initiative, run by volunteers from The Bulldog, continues to bring warmth and connection to the community.

SERVING WITH CARE AND COMMITMENT

The project is powered by the dedication of The Bulldog’s staff, with two or three colleagues volunteering their time every other month. They visit the Salvation Army women’s location in Amsterdam to create delicious meals and ensure a memorable evening for the attendees.

In December, Birte and Marloes, two team members from our hotel, stepped up to lead the effort. Their journey began with shopping for all the groceries needed to craft the meal, followed by hours of dedicated cooking. The result? A beautifully seated dinner that offered more than just food—it provided a sense of community and care.

GOOD FOOD AND A GREAT NIGHT

This month’s menu was a great success. We started the evening with a classic homemade egg salad, lovingly prepared using 100 eggs and served with toast. The next dish was a flavorful curry made with lentils, sweet potato, and mango, accompanied by Turkish bread. For dessert we served a classic:  a festive treat of Vianetta ice cream, topped with whipped cream.

The evening was a resounding success, marked by good food, great conversations, and an undeniable sense of togetherness. The women enjoyed the meal, and our volunteers cherished the opportunity to give back.
