HOLIDAY FEAST BRINGS CHEER TO SALVATION ARMY FAMILIES
On the 17th of December the historic Koepelkerk in Amsterdam transforms into a festive haven for Salvation Army clients. This cherished tradition offers attendees a delicious three-course dinner in a warm and joyful setting. Guests arrive dressed in their finest attire, ready to share an evening of connection and celebration. To accommodate everyone, the event is split into two sittings—afternoon and evening—each hosting up to 350 individuals.
SPREADING HOLIDAY WARMTH THROUGH PARTNERSHIP
The Salvation Army works closely with The Bulldog to make the event a success. Volunteers from The Bulldog—four to five per session—hand out special gift bags packed with holiday treats. These festive bags include Christmas bread, butter, hot chocolate, and cookies, all generously donated by The Bulldog. Children attending the event also receive small, thoughtful gifts, adding an extra layer of joy. Beyond the treats, the Salvation Army uses the funds provided to purchase essential winter items, such as socks, scarves, and undergarments, offering guests practical support during the colder months.
FESTIVE SURPRISES AND ACTS OF KINDNESS
A professional Santa Claus, sponsored by The Bulldog, is a star attraction of the evening. Santa takes time to interact with the guests, listening to their stories and sharing in their joy. His presence is a highlight for many. Adding to the generosity, Henk de Vries makes a heartfelt contribution by donating 100 envelopes filled with money to those in need, providing crucial financial assistance during the holiday season.
